Although no rival for the modern grand libraries and Universities of Ithkiya, the people of Et'wixt take some kind of pride in their own universities. Unfortunately, I can't say I share their enthusiasm for their methods. Their excessive use of standardized testing and ranking of students is a far cry from my University experience in Ithkiya. Although I don't think my own education perfect by any means, Ithkiyan schools are also stoked in suffocating amounts of tradition at times, Et'wixt schooling is an entirely different beast.

Their obsession with public ranking of academic achievement seems to me a toxic and tragic missapropriation of the joy of discovering new knowledge. This combined with the stark lack of open ended questions-keeping tests to multiple choice almost exclusivvely-makes me wonder how much one truly learns in such an environment.

The cirriculum which Et'wixt mandates for universities is not much better either. Much of what is taught in these schools are dedicated to what I would personally consider outright state propaganda. The material I have seen from peers who hail from Et'wixt is drenched in a sense of self-importance, with both their priority in teaching and their priority in policy directed strictly towards showing off their own achievements and merit without so much of a thought as to contributions made by other societies. Not all people from Et'wixt behave this way, of course, but when the loudest most influential professors and teachers do, it clouds my mind with worry.
